About Us

We are a small house church, meaning we currently meet in one another's houses rather than a "church building." We are about half a dozen families and about a dozen other individuals that meet together.

our Bible table

We are Bible believing Christians (non-denominational and non-catholic and non-protestant), who acknowledge that God, out of His love and mercy for His creation, humanity, has purposed that the death and resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ (God manifest in the flesh) has redeemed us from our sin and the consequence of sin, which is death, and has imparted to us who believe and trust with all our hearts, grace to live a life in accord with Jesus' commands. We also acknowledge that it is true what the Scriptures say about themselves and how Jesus regarded them, that the words contained therein were spoken (and written) by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God to accurately communicate God's heart and mind to humanity. And due to study of history and manuscript records we believe the Bible to have been transmitted through history unadulterated. We also believe that it is necessary to do what Jesus said to do for at least three reasons.

But before the reasons, "what Jesus said to do" can be summarized this way: that one must become, by the power of God and faith in Jesus, a new creation, born anew, dying to the old life and self, and set out to follow Jesus wherever He would have us go. And to follow all His commands without exception according to the grace or power He has given and to the extent of the knowledge that we have of them.

  • When you are a new creature in Christ (reformed into the image of Christ, so that it is no longer I that live but Christ lives in me), no more will we care for the lusts and pleasures of sin and the world but we will desire to "do what He said to do."
  • We have fallen in love with Jesus, which can in some ways be compared to a bride falling in love with her new husband and desiring nothing else but to spend time with him, hear his voice, and do that which is pleasing to him. So Jesus said, "if you love Me, you will keep My commandments."
  • Pursue holiness, without which no man shall see God (Heb. 12:14). If we do not keep His commands, but rather live lives filled with sin or even spotted with sin, we will not enter the kingdom of God.

We have a desire to know Jesus more and more and also to make Him known. So we have a heart, burden, and zeal to share Jesus, his love and also his warnings, and his word (contained in the Bible) with all humanity. In particular we set up a table to hand out Bibles and other spiritual literature and engage people in conversation in Old Town on Saturday nights and on CSU campus Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are other evangelistic outreaches as well.

We meet together on Sundays at 4 pm to sing praises and spiritual songs, to pray, and share testimonies of God's work in our lives, and teachings from the Scriptures and other spiritual works.

We also have other prayer meetings, Bible studies, women's group meetings, men's meetings, times of fasting, and an emphasis on each of our own personal walks with our Lord, including prayer and study of the Bible.

We endeavor to see the kingdom of God established in men and women's hearts, to see those who walk in darkness change and begin to walk in the light of Christ and become and experience what God originally created us to be. With all who heed this call, we intend to build upon the foundation of Christ, his teachings, and the teachings of the apostles, as the disciples and servants of Christ, his Body, his Church (people, not a building), in accord with the leading of God's Holy Spirit and the guidelines of the Holy Scriptures. To the end above all things that the Creator would, out of our willing sacrifice, receive the glory and honor He is due.

We believe we are "a church in Fort Collins," that we are just a very small piece in the worldwide universal Church of Jesus Christ, while acknowledging we have a long way to go to come up to the measure of the stature of Christ.

Being strongly persuaded that the majority of the "church world," mainstream organized Christianity, has become hypocritical either due to taking away the commands of Christ and turning his grace into lawlessness or adding extra-biblical requirements to its adherents, we are hoping and moving in the direction, with the help of God and the Scriptures, to "contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints." The avenue we are taking is to study and implement the understandings and historical examples of the 1st through 4th century pre-Constantine Church. Hence the "primitive Christianity" slogan. While some of the bigger doctrines of the early Church are directly opposed to the mainstream American church (such as no war, no divorce and remarriage), we are more compelled by their willingness to follow Jesus at all costs, often their own lives. In their culture and time (the Roman Empire), they had to be separate as Christians from the ways, mores, practices, and forms of entertainment of their society, and follow Christ in opposition to many, just as Jesus said it would be.

We believe what the Only Begotten Son of God has said, that He is the only way to peace on the face of this earth, and that it is certain that the earth is perishing. But if we believe in Him, love Him, and keep his commands, we shall be saved and given eternal life and ever increasing joy, wisdom, knowledge and will live with God for ever and ever.

We are looking for fellow soldiers to join in the only true and purposeful war with a sure victory. The souls of men hang in the balance. If you have a burden for God's glory and the salvation of men, please contact us and join the battle.
